This Careers Privacy Statement ("Privacy Statement") explains how Outerwall Inc. and our subsidiaries and affiliated companies, including but not limited to Redbox, Redbox Canada, Coinstar Ltd. and Coinstar Automated Retail Canada Inc., (collectively, "Outerwall," "we," or "us") collect, use and share information about you when you access and use the Careers section of our websites ("Career Services") or otherwise communicate with us in connection with your application for employment. Please note that this Privacy Statement supplements the Outerwall Privacy Policy (http://www.outerwall.com/privacy) which describes how we collect, use and share your information in other contexts, such as when you use our kiosks, websites or other online or mobile services or applications.

We may change this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the date at the top of this statement and, in some cases, we may provide you with additional notice (such as by adding a statement to our Career Services webpage or sending you an email notification). We encourage you to review this Privacy Statement whenever you use our Career Services to stay informed about our information practices and the ways you can help protect your privacy.

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION

Information You Provide to Us.We collect information you provide directly to us. For example, we collect information when you create an online account, apply for a position or otherwise communicate with us about your employment application. The types of information we may collect include:

  • Name, address, email address, telephone number, social media handles and other contact information;
  • CV/resume, cover letter, previous work experience, education and school and/or higher education transcripts;
  • Type of employment sought, current and desired salary, willingness to relocate and other job preferences;
  • How you heard about the position and the name of any current Outerwall employee that referred you to us;
  • Names and contact information for references (please note that it is your responsibility to obtain consent from references before providing their personal information to us);
  • In certain countries, we may collect details of your race, ethnic origin and other sensitive information for the purpose of monitoring equal opportunity, but only if you voluntarily choose to submit such information as part of the application process;
  • If you are offered a job, we may also collect information such as your government identification number (such as a Social Security number for U.S. applicants, a National Insurance number for U.K. applicants or a Social Insurance number for Canadian applicants), date of birth, driver’s license information and other information that we use for background checks, credit checks, identity verification and other employment-related purposes, as applicable; and
  • In the United States, we may require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing for certain positions.

Information We Collect From Other Sources. We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Career Services. For example, we may collect information about you from third parties, including but not limited to current or previous employers, identity verification services, drug test companies and credit reporting agencies.

USE OF INFORMATION

Outerwall will use the information we collect about you for recruitment purposes, such as to process and evaluate your job application, to prepare for and conduct interviews and to communicate with you about employment opportunities at Outerwall. Additionally, if you are offered a job at Outerwall, we may use information about you for other employment-related purposes, such as to conduct background checks and drug tests.

SHARING OF INFORMATION

We may share information about you as follows or as otherwise described in this Privacy Statement:

  • With vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf;
  • In response to a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, regulation or legal process, or as otherwise required or permitted by any applicable law, rule or regulation;
  • To protect the rights, property and safety of Outerwall and others;
  • In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company; and
  • With your consent or at your direction, including if we notify you through our Career Services that the information you provide will be shared in a particular manner and you provide such information.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

SECURITY

Outerwall takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

YOUR CHOICES

Reviewing, Updating, and/or Deleting Information About You. You may request details about the information we collect at any time by contacting careers@outerwall.com. If you believe that any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to careers@outerwall.com as soon as possible so that we can correct or update such information. Alternatively, if you want to update or otherwise make changes to your Career Services account information, you may log in into your online account and edit your profile. If you would like to have your information completely removed from our system, please email careers@outerwall.com, but note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

Job Updates. You may opt out of receiving updates about employment opportunities from Outerwall by logging into your account and updating your communication preferences or by contacting careers@outerwall.com. If you opt out, we may still send you communications about any applications you submit.

International Data Transfers. Outerwall Inc. and our affiliates and service providers are based in the United States and other countries. By accessing or using the Career Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries. Please note that the measures we may use to safeguard this information are subject to the legal requirements of the jurisdictions where such information is transferred, stored and/or processed, including any legal requirements to disclose information to government authorities in those jurisdictions.

For Information Collected from Canadian Applicants: If you wish to access written information about our policies and practices with respect to Outerwall Inc. and our affiliates and service providers outside of Canada, please consult this Privacy Statement. For Information Collected from EU Applicants: Information collected by Coinstar Ltd. may be shared with Outerwall Inc. and our affiliates and service providers. European privacy law permits the export of personal data to other countries subject to the provision of adequate levels of protection for processing of such data. Coinstar Ltd. will ensure that transfers outside the EEA are subject to adequate safeguards as data protection standards in those countries may differ from those in the EEA. Outerwall is a participant in the Safe Harbor program developed by the U.S. Department of Commerce and the European Union. We have certified that we adhere to the Safe Harbor Privacy Principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Security, Data Integrity, Access and Enforcement with respect to personal data transferred from the EU to the U.S. For more information about the Safe Harbor program and to view our certification, please visit the U.S. Department of Commerce's Safe Harbor Web site.
